"Volunteers are L
VE in motion." -author unknown
Volunteering and giving back are two of the greatest ways to make a difference in the lives of others! Many of our dancers volunteer in a number of ways, at the studio, and outside of the studio with our TBS staff. Our dancers at The Ballet Studio volunteer with assisting our instructors during classes, volunteer at TCR (Trenton Cat Rescue), perform at nursing homes and assisted living facilities, collect items for causes, such as Womanspace, as well as making a positive difference in the community."Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they have the heart." - Elizabeth Andrew. Thank you so much to all of our TBS volunteer students and TBS families for your generosity and for all that you all do to make this world a better place!!!
For several dance seasons, we have had our dancers who volunteer as a group, at Trenton Cat Rescue, adopt out (and also adopt) many kittens and cats to furever homes. Several dancers donated items to the rescue.
Our dancers, and their families and friends, collected many brand new items, from soap to coats, for HomeFront and Womanspace.
Our competition team performed at the Merwick Care and Rehabilitation Center in Plainsboro this past March, and were invited back because of how happy they made the residents. They are also volunteering as "Angels in the Outfield" for the Miracle League of Mercer County.
Our dancers have donated dance (ballet, tap, hip-hop, and jazz) shoes, and lightly used dance attire to dancers in need.
Our graduated TBS dancers volunteered this past season, for their college dance team, teaching our dancers, and others from the state, at dance clinics.
Our graduated TBS dancers have come to the rehearsal and recital, helping backstage with our students. Students studying theatre and arts help with recital choreography, lighting, and mixing songs for the recital cd.
During the holidays this dance season, our dancers collected toys for "Joey\\\\\\\'s Little Angels." For each toy donated, The Ballet Studio matched a toy to donate to Joey\\\\\\\'s Little Angels!
TBS has donated to The Jeremy Fund and Trenton Cats Rescue!
Our (AATP) Alum Assistant Teaching Program, is for past TBS dancers to come back and assist with or teach a class, or classes. This gives graduated TBS dancers an opportunity to volunteer at the studio, and to see if they may want to pursue a teaching career.
The following dancers are our student assistants who come to the studio, each week, to help our dancers during class. From tying a preschooler\\\\\'s ballet shoe, to demonstrating advanced level technique, our student assistants make a difference in each and every class!!
