THE BALLET STUDIO GRADUATING SENIOR DANCERS / 2013-2014 . . .

Lindsey Lawrence | Senior Dancer

I started dancing when I was 9 years old. Although this will only be my third year at the Ballet Studio, I can say that I've loved every minute of it. I have made many new friends and acquired life long skills not only in dance but in the real world as well. I have had unforgettable memories and experiences because of dance. The teachers and staff at the Ballet Studio are some of the most remarkable people out there. They're welcoming, caring, and fun. Some of the teachers I've had include Ms. Alyssa and Ms. Amanda and they have both taught me so much. I love dancing and hope to continue for a long time after high school, especially because dance has been such a huge part of my life. I would like to thank all of the Ballet Studio dancers and staff for everything they have done to make dance as much fun as it is, and I will miss it all so much when I move on from senior year.

Kara Chamberlin | Senior Dancer

Although I have only been dancing with The Ballet Studio for three years, I have been dancing every year since I was seven years old. When I first started dancing, I just thought of it as an activity to do in my spare time once a week with a few of my friends. However, as the years flew by, it began to mean so much more to me than that; dance became something that I couldn't live without. Especially since joining the TBS family, dance has become a way for me to express my feelings and just let go. In these past 10 years, I have made so many new friends, strengthened old friendships, and learned things that I will carry with me throughout the rest of my life. Even though I'm not able to answer the question of what I want to be when I grow up, I know that dance will always be a special part in my life that I will never let fade away.

Lyssa Coleman | Senior Dancer

I have been with The Ballet Studio for 14 years, and have absolutely LOVED every minute of it! Over the years, I have had many wonderful, fun instructors. The staff, atmosphere, and philosophy of The Ballet Studio is what made me keep dancing here! Dance has always acted as such an escape from everyday life (school, work, etc.) Upon graduating from high school, I plan to attend college majoring in either Elementary Education or Psychology. I cannot thank Ms. Lisa and the staff at The Ballet Studio enough for everything that they have done for me over the years. The lessons learned and the memories that have been made will stay with me for the rest of my life. To quote Dr. Seuss for my feelings towards senior year: "Don't cry because it's over...smile because it happened."

Rachel Gindhart | Senior Dancer

I began dancing at The Ballet Studio when I was 7 years old. I've been on the competition team since I was 8 years old. I love dancing at the studio with all the girls and the fun we have at the competitions is great. Some of the first teachers I had were Ms. Lisa and Ms. Sherri and over the years I have had many wonderful teachers. I will be attending college when I graduate from Steinert High School for Secondary Education and Speech Pathology. I have made so many great friends through my years at the studio. I love dancing it has been a big part of my life. I'm looking forward to my senior year. I just wanted to say Thank You to all my teachers and the friends for all the years at TBS. I love you all and will miss you.

Kelly Krueger | Senior Dancer

I was 2 when I started at TBS. My first class was on Saturday with Mrs. Tara. For 16 years the studio was my second home. I went from taking one class a week to dancing everyday. When I graduate from High School I am moving to South Carolina and attending the University of South Carolina to become a High School teacher. Just thinking about leaving the studio brings me to tears. I am excited to start my senior year with my dance family but I am sad that it is almost over. Thank you to all the teachers and students who have inspired and supported me throughout the years.

Lauren Lynch | Senior Dancer

I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I have been at The Ballet Studio for only three of those years but they have been some of the best years of my dance career. Performing is my passion, whether it be dancing, acting or singing. After high school, I will be attending college to study opera and classical voice performance. Thanks to dance I have found myself to be a more confident, outgoing, well-rounded person. It has taught me how to be a team player and has also brought along many great lifelong friends and memories. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without dance. Whenever I am having a bad day, all of my worries go away as soon as I step through the door. The teachers and students here are so encouraging and supportive. Thank you all for making me feel at home and making these past years amazing. Lets make this last year the best year yet!

Kiley Mabin | Senior Dancer

I remember attending my first dance class at The Ballet Studio. It was a Saturday morning and Miss Tara was teaching. I remember always being the shy, quiet little girl in dance class. Looking back 14 years later, I couldn't imagine that The Ballet Studio would be such a big part of my life. I have met so many friends at the studio, and we all share the same interest in one special thing, DANCE. I have created so many wonderful memories at The Ballet Studio that I will never forget. After my Senior year, I plan on attending college and get a master's degree. Even though I can't fathom the thought of not dancing at The Ballet Studio anymore, I know it will always be a second home to me and has helped me become the person I am today.

Kaysey McGrath | Senior Dancer

The Ballet Studio has been my second home for the last 13 years. I'm so grateful that my mom decided to sign me up when I was five years old. When I first started I had no idea that dance was going to be such a big part of my life. It has introduced me to some of my closest friends and has helped me to escape whatever difficulties I was going through. Without dance I would have been bored out of my mind and would have had no way of expressing myself. I joined the competition team when I was 9 years old. One of my favorite dance memories is when we went to nationals in Virginia beach for our production "Cats'. I've had so many great memories and teachers at The Ballet Studio. I want to thank Miss Lisa and the staff for helping me grow as a dancer and a person over the years. Also for making The Ballet Studio such a great place. I can't believe it's my senior year already! After I graduate this year from Notre Dame High School, I plan on studying psychology in college. I'm so excited for a great year with my dance family.
